In the spirit of Earth Day, and inspired by a fun conversation at work earlier, I thought I'd share some of the switches I've made in the last few years in an effort to reduce my plastic consumption! (I'm not a big enough account to get sponsorships, so you know that these are things I actually love!) Slide 1: cleaning products from blueland. These are the powdered dish soap and the foaming hand soap, but I've used most of their products by now: dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs, glass cleaner, multisurface and bathroom cleaner... probably forgetting something! Aside from the powdered dish soap, their products come as little tabs that you dissolve in hot water, and their packaging is plastic-free and compostable, etc. Slide 2: I love giant straws for my morning smoothies and for boba drinks, and these metal ones from finpinshop have sharks on them! Side 3: ethiqueworld is great for personal care products! I've been very impressed with their shampoos and soaps over the past year. My hair is way softer and less prone to frizz these days. They have lots of formulations for different hair and skin types, and you can get minis or sampler packs (which come in cute heart shapes) to try them out. (The unwrapped blue bar is their shave bar.) I haven't tried their conditioners because I found hellohibar first and will probably stick with that -- another great plastic-free brand. Both are cruelty-free and have vegan options, too. Slide 4: Unpaste toothpaste tabs and Ruut mouthwash tabs. You chew up the toothpaste tabs with some water and brush, and your teeth feel super-clean. I know there are a few different toothpaste tab companies out there; this is just the one I've tried. I like Ruut a lot but still feel like they've just a liiiiittle pricy, so I may experiment with another brand next time I reorder, because there are a few others in this market too. I love that there are so many choices these days! Slide 5: I got these beeswax wraps from netzerocompany for Christmas to use with lunches, but since I've been working from home, I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet.
